The Immigrant and Refugee Law Center (IRLC) is a fast-growing nonprofit providing pro bono immigration legal services to low-income immigrant and refugee families in the Greater Cincinnati region. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated attorney to join our team at a critical time for immigrant communities.
Job Summary:
IRLC has an immediate opening for a bilingual (English/Spanish preferred) immigration attorney to support detained and at-risk individuals. This position focuses on rapid response to enforcement actions, bond representation, habeas petitions, and full representation before immigration courts and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Advise clients on immigration options and legal rights
Represent clients in immigration court, including removal and bond proceedings
Prepare and file applications, petitions, waivers, appeals, and habeas petitions
Provide rapid response support related to ICE enforcement actions
Collaborate with community partners, rapid response networks, and legal service providers
Engage in coalition work and community-based advocacy efforts
Deliver trauma-informed, client-centered legal services
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law (Ohio or eligible for admission)
Experience in immigration law; detention experience strongly preferred
Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to serving immigrant communities and advancing social justice
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range $75,000 – 85,000 a year, depending on experience.
